Stephen O. Drenner

President & Attorney

Steve would never tell you he’s one of the best entitlement lawyers in Austin, but his clients and colleagues will. A Central Texas land use attorney with 40-plus years of experience, Steve Drenner is the founding principal of Drenner Group, PC.

Steve has spent his career working on real estate transactional and entitlement law. He founded Drenner Group to create a unique firm with an unusual team, one that combines entitlement and real estate transactional attorneys with land use, planning, and engineering professionals.

Today, Steve’s practice focuses primarily on entitlements for developers and landowners in the Austin, TX area, with projects along the I-35 corridor between Arlington and San Antonio.

Representative matters include:

  • Zoning cases
  • Plats
  • Site development and building permits
  • Grandfathering
  • Economic incentives
  • Public-private partnerships

Steve has extensive experience with real estate transactional law. He worked on all aspects of development projects during his first 15 years of practice and continues to provide transactional representation to clients with land use needs.

In addition to managing his practice, Steve also oversees the firm’s commitment to client service and its founding ideals. A long-time resident of Austin, he serves on professional and community boards and works to foster responsible development and the beauty of the Texas Hill Country.
