Kate Kniejski

Senior Project Manager

Kate has ten years of urban planning, analysis, and GIS mapping experience. Specializing in land development processes and regulations in Austin and Central Texas, Kate joined Drenner Group because she shares her colleagues’ values and the conviction that development can drive economic growth and community benefits while being sustainable in the long term.

As a Senior Project Manager, Kate handles entitlement research and analysis, which includes:

  • Site analysis
  • Due diligence
  • Land development code research and analysis
  • Policy research
  • GIS mapping
  • Consulting
  • Site plan/subdivision application processing
  • Rezoning support

Kate works closely with our entitlement and transactional attorneys on zoning and permitting applications. Her research informs our assessment of the property before it is developed, actively collaborating with clients to create realistic and implementable solutions (i.e., her findings might lead us to suggest that you need a zoning change instead of a variance). Kate helps her clients understand what entitlements they have today and the best options for development.

Kate’s professionalism and attention to detail make her one of the most valued members of the Drenner Group team, and she is one of the reasons why the Drenner Group entitlement practice has no equal in the region.

Originally from San Antonio, Kate lives in East Austin with her husband, Josh, son, Theo, and the family felines, Atticus and Cooper. She is a self-proclaimed Harry Potter nerd and she spends her free time chasing Theo around the house, attending Austin FC home matches, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, and partaking in the occasional dim sum brunch.
