Shannon Mattingly, AICP, is currently a Director of Land Use and Entitlements at Drenner Group, PC.

Representative matters include:

  • Comprehensive Land Development Code updates, modifications, and implementation
  • Affordable Housing Policy implementation (including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits)
  • Housing Needs Analysis, Task Force creation, and Survey implementation
  • Short-Term Rental Program implementation
  • Historic Landmark Designations and comprehensive Historic Resources Survey implementation
  • Comprehensive Planning
  • Regional Mobility Authority Transportation studies
  • Development and implementation of Downtown Design Standards
  • Public and community affairs and information programs related to planning and zoning

Throughout these endeavors, Shannon accomplished many projects while overseeing planning, health, code enforcement, animal control, building and permitting, GIS, CDBG, and other municipally oriented departments, where she made a substantial impact both within and outside of the various organizations.

In San Marcos, Shannon is especially proud of her work leading the adoption of a new Land Development Code for the City – Vision SMTX. Similarly, in New Braunfels, Shannon played a pivotal leadership role in negotiating the Veramendi Development Agreement as well as adopting several new Land Development Codes.

Shannon has been a fixture at Planning Commission and Council meetings in Central Texas and has presented hundreds of cases throughout the years. She grew up in Tyler, Texas. Shannon currently lives in New Braunfels with her husband, John, and daughter, McKenzie.
