Intracorp, Seeking Density Bonus for Planned Downtown Tower, Could Pay to Preserve
Intracorp Texas is seeking approval for a 65-story luxury hotel and condominium tower, Conrad Austin and Conrad Residences Austin, set to rise 750 feet at 307 and 319 E. Second St. in downtown Austin. The project, which includes 125 condos and a 330-room hotel, will replace the historic Leonard and Vida East House, which Intracorp plans to relocate and renovate as part of the city’s Downtown Density Bonus Program. In exchange for added development space, the developer will pay $5 million in fees to support affordable housing. The project has received approval from the Austin Planning Commission and will now go before the City Council for final approval, contributing to the area’s growing skyline.
