Developer Ditches Hotel Component of Rainey Street Tower
Plans for a 51-story tower at 90 and 92 Rainey Street, once slated to include both hotel and residential space, have shifted in response to the ongoing impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. Developer Kevin Burns, citing challenges in hotel financing, has decided to focus solely on residential units with ground-floor space for businesses. Burns is working to preserve the iconic Container Bar and Bungalow within the building, ensuring their continued presence in the evolving Rainey Street district. The project also seeks approval for a density bonus to allow for the tower’s height.
