Prominent Political, Business Minds Join Forces to Improve City Council with Center for Austin’s Future

The Center for Austin’s Future, a nonprofit aimed at developing future city leaders, has launched the ATXelerator program, modeled after startup accelerators. The program seeks to recruit, mentor, and support candidates for City Council with a focus on key issues like affordability, transportation, and growth. Led by Ward Tisdale, the center includes notable figures from Austin’s political and business communities. The ATXelerator will provide mentorship, education, and competition to prepare candidates for effective governance. Winners of the program will receive rewards and potentially run for office with the center’s support. The first class will be announced in December.
